we bought one for my husband's office some years ago and its been great so we also bought one for his mother's bedroom. She didn't realize how dark that room was until she needed paramedics to work on her and they had to move her into another room because it was so dark. She loves it. It looks good and is easy to use for an elderly person in poor health.

I bought this lamp in April of 2011. I just turned it on and it came on briefly and then went off. I unplugged the lamp and reset the Circuit Breaker and it still will not work. The bulb does not have any dark spots and looks clear and appears to be fine. I tried resetting the circuit breaker several times. I do not have the original packaging to return this lamp.
